Michelle Frye

From the wide-open plains of Nebraska to the rugged beauty of Alaska, Michelle’s journey has been anything but ordinary. A Midwest girl at heart with a love for adventure, she earned her degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2010—but it wasn’t long before the call of the wild brought her north. In 2014, she made the move to Alaska and, not long after, fell in love with a local boy from Homer. Together, they share a passion for yoga, teaching classes across the state and even hosting retreats in exotic destinations.

Though she calls herself a “fair-weather hiker,” Michelle makes the most of Alaska’s great outdoors. Whether she’s hiking to remote cabins, camping under the midnight sun, or reeling in salmon, she’s always up for a new experience. You’ll also find her kicksledding, fat biking, or out on long walks with her dog, soaking in Alaska’s breathtaking scenery. And when it comes to local traditions, she never misses the Oosik Classic in Talkeetna or the Forest Fair in Girdwood—two events that perfectly capture the spirit of her adventurous lifestyle.

But Michelle’s interests go beyond the wilderness. She lights up when she’s dancing, rocking a fun fashion statement, or simply enjoying time with great company. And, fun fact: despite three years of braces, she’s never had a single cavity!

From her dental expertise to her love of yoga, adventure, and all things Alaska, Michelle embraces a life of joy, balance, and a little bit of wild.
